We could really use a great outing from Nova tonight. However, it will not be a small task against this lineup.

Nova is due for a hit this season too. He might have to help himself with the way the bats are playing.

Cutch just missed one in left center, guy jumped and caught it at the top of the wall.

Gift is a neat story, but his bat doesn't play.

This team looks like they don't have much fight in them right now. All the bad luck they've been having plus the Taillon news probably has got to them mentally...

Watching Urias, 20 years old and no hitting the Buccos through 6, I can't help but think about a 16 yo can't miss prospect the Pirates signed from Mexico.  Could use him about now.

Cutch with his third hard hit ball of the night...finally finding some open space for a ground rule double.

He's busy being a middle reliever at AA

I would agree. BAseball players are around each other a ton.

when one of their own goes down to something like this it affects the clubhouse and on field attitude. There is no joy and that is sometimes the X factor that might get you a win. Throw the fact that the vets are fully aware of how many guys on the roster right now that won't be around at the end of the season.

Like someone said, Gift is a great story, but vets get tired of introduce themselves to someone new every day. There is no cohesion and the Marte and Kang uncertainty, mixed in with JT's issue makes for a 1-6 road trip.
