Watched Pens, so missed first couple innings. But Buccos down 4-0 bottom of 4th.

Kuhl on the mound. I'm

I think it's almost to the point that we can now say with certainty that this team is terrible. If not terrible, then at least "really bad."

Our offense is horrendous. And we are able to combine that with embarrassing baserunning and the worst defense in major league baseball. The starting pitching is not nearly deep enough, and you can't trust the bullpen.

Toss in all the injuries and bad luck, mix it up real good, and you've got the recipe for 67-95 and a lost season.

Right now I'd say the Pirates are a 65 to 70 win team.

I don't think they are a 100 loss team. They are playing really bad baseball right now. Their starting pitching is actually been quite good (aside from Cole's first game, the first couple starts from Glasnow, Kuhl's bad game, and Williams bad start). The hitting looks like a team without half of the starters playing. The defense a freaking shock and mystery. Baserunning falls under the same category. There is not tangible reasons why the latter two should be this bad. Maybe the clear up. I think the offense gets better when Freese and Frazier return. Well, negligibly better.

This is where somebody comes on and posts "Yea but they are still only 5 games out of 1st place" despite being in last place and 6 games under .500 already.

It doesn't help any that McCutchen Is hitting like he's 39 instead of 29.

I am like everyone who are very disappointed in this season so far. I keep thinking that this season could have been very entertaining if Kang and Marte were now in the lineup. Right now I am so disappointed in those two that if the FO decided to trade them I would not care. By their actions they have ruined this season for their fellow players and for all the Pirate fans. I don't care how many apologies they give to the fans, they messed up this season big time.

Despite all of the personnel losses, if Cutch and Polanco were hitting like MAJOR LEAGUE STARS, this team would be able to win a few games and keep its head above water.

But they are not major league stars and they're not hitting that way. They are hitting like run-of-the-mill journeymen, and it's killing this offense.

Of course, that's only one problem of MANY with this team, but it's certainly a significant one.

And I'm still ticked off that the front office couldn't open its wallet and bring in two additional LEGITIMATE starting pitchers to the mix this season. I was pushing for that the entire off-season.

We don't have nearly enough. You know there are going to be injuries, and you know there is going to be under-performance.

At the moment 2 of our 5 starters are somewhat reliable, and that's not going to work if you have plans to compete for the postseason. Not nearly good enough. We are at least 2 arms shy of being competitive in that department.

With 60 percent of our games currently being started by Glasnow, Williams and Kuhl ... well, that's just not going to work over the long haul.

While I wanted another pitcher too, that isn't the problem.
