He wasn't with the Pirates, but in Triple A, right? If I am correct, I wouldn't call him a "star" and he is also known for another baseball trivia question.

Dog, you are spot on. He did the thing with Morganna Roberts at the 1988 AAA All-Star Game. Then the following season he became the last left-handed throwing catcher in MLB. He caught 3 games for the Buccos that season. Way to go Dog!

It appears the answer phase was dominated by the guys with red names. Good work gentleman. Here are the official results:

1. Babe pitched all 21 innings of a 3-1 loss to the Giants in 1914. 21 innings?? He made Haddix look like a slacker.

2. Vic Janowicz played catcher for the Bucs, running back for the Redskins, and all over the field for Ohio State. In the famous 1950 Snow Bowl against Michigan he punted 21 times. A few weeks later he won the Heisman Trophy.

3. Jim Bibby threw BBs for the Bucs. His brother Henry won titles at UCLA and with the Knicks.

4. Benny may not have been a star but John Candelaria was. Morganna smooched the Candyman in 1977.

5. Larry McWilliams and Gene Garber stopped the Hit King in 1978 in Atlanta. McWilliams won 43 games for the Bucs in the 80's.

6. For one night only, Mario Mendoza crossed his own line and showed both Lightening and Lumber.

7. Cy Young won 511 games but he couldn't beat the Bucs in the first World Series game. Do you think Cy felt cheated he pitched before the Cy Young Award existed?

8. Adam Frazier had six hits for Mississippi State the day after he was drafted in 2013. Rarely has one of Neal's moves looked so good 24 hours later.

9. Vern Law got two wins and helped lead the Bucs to the Series victory over Yogi Berra and the Yanks. Dale Berra and Vance law teamed up for the Bucs in the early '80s. Vance was one Law Dale didn't run afoul of.

10. Matty Alou couldn't hit'em far but he hit'em often. From 1966-1970, Matty hit 817 singles-- the next best was 731.

11. During Johnny "Whiz" Gee's war-time career, he had a career WAR of -1.5. But you can't teach size, and at 6'9", Gee was the tallest player in MLB history until Randy Johnson in ‘88.

12. Bill awoke to I Got You Babe. This quiz started and ended with a Babe ----- always good to be surrounded by a couple of Babes!

I didn't think #4 was Benny Distefano. He wasn't with the Pirates when kissed. He is also known as the last left-handed player to play Catcher.
