He also, put simply, has better stuff than anyone with so bland a name and so little prospect pedigree would be expected to have. The total package is deeply impressive: Williams is already a solid mid-rotation starter, posting a 4.07 ERA, 3.95 ERA, and 2.7 WARP last season.

I like Williams a lot. He had a great ST last year and was heads and tails better than Glasnow, who was gifted the 5th starter spot while Williams went to the BP. He ended up making 25 starts and leading the starting pitchers in ERA.

Nice article, thanks for sharing. It also has Cole highly ranked. So the Bucs had two pitchers highly rated. (Cole's command was second highest)

Williams is probably my favorite starter. He is smart, goes in with a game plan, and adjusts as needed. It is very apparent when you watch him pitch, how much he enjoys the challenge of what he is doing. He may not have the best stuff, but he uses it all, and he probably has the best intangibles – heart, guts, and savvy.

He is becoming a fan favorite with his Twitter account too. He's funny and responds to his fans.

Edit:

I posted then read the article. His Twitter was mentioned. Ha ha.

Kuhl and Williams had a very very under rated and quietly good 2nd half last year.

you already have something with Taillon

now if 1 or 2 guys from the Glasnow, Holmes, Kingham, Brault, Musgrove, Eppler, Tanner Anderson, group can turn into something while we wait for Keller and Co.

who knows?

its about the only way the Pirates will become winners again anytime soon.

if we have a mass development in a small window of young arms ALA the late 80's early 90's Braves.

I really think the Bucs Brass believe the young pitchers will get the team to the postseason in the next two or three years. I hope their thinking is correct. I am always concerned with arm injuries with pitchers.

if they don't believe it they at least hope it.
