John Heyman reported that the Pirates maybe one of the teams with interest in Melky Cabrera. Probably he would be a good fourth outfielder. His defense is a little suspect, but he still has a decent bat.

Saw that at Bucs Dugout. Put up okay numbers but defense is an issue. I think Frazier is a better bet in left, but could be a good number 4.

He would fit right in. Milky, Marte, Cervelli, DuRapau and Turley.

A third tier OF with hustle and attitude problems to take at bats from Luplow and Frazier.



It only makes sense to spend our limited millions on a corner OF like that, who is comparable value or worse than what we already have (Frazier) only older and having no future.

Your sarcasm to illustrate what is absolutely true is outstanding!

So, we don't want a 4th Outfielder or is it that we don't want Cabrera?

Hopefully this rumor remains just that, a rumor, and that the Bucs do not pursue Cabrera.



It also is not that long ago, 2012, that Cabrera was suspended for 50 games for PEDS.

Who is out there that can play center?  If Marte gets hurt, we are SOL in CF.  Polanco in center? NO!  Frazier?  F-NO!  So who do we put there?  J-Hay?

Wonder if Jon Jay might be a better option? He can play all the outfield positions...
