Oneil Cruz cruises to a victory in the 19th spot. Added the youngest remaining member of the 40 man roster, Dario Agrazal. If your guy wasn't added yet (and he's actually played in the US), remember this- YOU DIDN'T REQUEST HIM. Nick Burdi probably next unless someone has a better idea. 7 of the 12 up for votes are 20 or under.

The results thus far.

1. Mitch Keller, 21, SP, AA (88% of the vote)

2. Austin Meadows, 22, OF, AAA (also 88% of the vote)

3. Shane Baz, 18, SP, Rookie league (34.1%)

4. Cole Tucker, 21, SS, AA (53.7%)

5. Colin Moran, 24, 3B, AAA/MLB (as placed by previous poll)

6. Ke'Bryan Hayes, 20, 3B, A+ (52.8% in #5 poll)

7. Kevin Newman, 24, SS, AAA (34.1% in #6 poll)

8. Taylor Hearn, 23, SP, A+ (40% in #7 poll)

9. Bryan Reynolds, 22, OF, A+ (40.9%)

10. Jordan Luplow, 24, OF, AAA/MLB (51.1%)

11. Max Moroff, 24, IF, MLB (27.3%)

12. Nick Kingham, 26, SP, AAA (28.1%)

13. Kevin Kramer, 24, 2B, AA, (52.1%)

14. Luis Escobar, 21, SP, A (33.3%)

15. Kevin "Lolo" Sanchez, 18, OF, R (46.2%)

16. Will Craig, 23, 1B, AA (20%)

17. Kyle Crick, 25, RP, MLB/AAA (26.7%)

18. Jason Martin, 22, OF, A- (20.5% of the vote, 57.7% of the run-off)

19. Oneil Cruz, 19, 3B, A- (41.7% of the vote)

Has to be the 18 year old that led his league in HR's despite missing the first 2 weeks. Plus led the league in OPS with 1.087 ... player in 2nd came in at .971.

Often when voting I feel perplexed between selecting someone based on sheer potential (like Baz or Uselton) versus actual professional experience. Those are hard comparisons to assess---but I usually have leaned towards the more experienced players.

With that in mind, I have three candidates I might suggest for the poll at some point. The first is Dovydas Neverauskas, who I am sure would be added soon anyway. The others are a pair of #25 draft picks Logan Hill (2015) and Hunter Owen (2016), each of whom are off to promising starts thus far. Both are four-year college picks, and of course are a little older than average for the lower levels. Both played their Age 23 season with the West Virginia Power:

AB AVG. HR OPS

Hill 2016 335 .254 11 .762

Owen 2017 291 .292 11 .893

Hill went on to hit 18 HR in 2017 between Bradenton and Altoona and had a combined OPS of .850. He is a strong athlete and has been mentioned previously as an “under the radar” candidate on this board. If Hill is under the radar, Owen is completely stealth. However, his comparative numbers with Hill at West Virginia might indicate he can succeed as he moves up as well. Owen sat out about 6 weeks last summer with an injury and probably missed a promotion to Bradenton.

These two don’t get much attention from the media experts, but if they can produce in 2018 like they did last year, they will shoot up the organizational rankings.
