Cal Mitchell, #2 pick last year, takes #23. Added another young OF, from where prospects go to die, Bristol: Edinson Lantigua. Rodolfo Castro will be next unless someone gives me a better idea.

The results thus far.

1. Mitch Keller, 21, SP, AA (88% of the vote)

2. Austin Meadows, 22, OF, AAA (also 88% of the vote)

3. Shane Baz, 18, SP, Rookie league (34.1%)

4. Cole Tucker, 21, SS, AA (53.7%)

5. Colin Moran, 24, 3B, AAA/MLB (as placed by previous poll)

6. Ke'Bryan Hayes, 20, 3B, A+ (52.8% in #5 poll)

7. Kevin Newman, 24, SS, AAA (34.1% in #6 poll)

8. Taylor Hearn, 23, SP, A+ (40% in #7 poll)

9. Bryan Reynolds, 22, OF, A+ (40.9%)

10. Jordan Luplow, 24, OF, AAA/MLB (51.1%)

11. Max Moroff, 24, IF, MLB (27.3%)

12. Nick Kingham, 26, SP, AAA (28.1%)

13. Kevin Kramer, 24, 2B, AA, (52.1%)

14. Luis Escobar, 21, SP, A (33.3%)

Can someone tell me why the team's 12th ranked prospect on the official site still can't make it on the OnlyBucs prospect list?

I will vote Steven Jennings until he's in or someone convinces me the Official Site is wrongheaded.

What is the official site?

I think one would be putting too much faith in any one prospect ranking. Jennings did not have a good debut, he'll probably be in Bristol this year, and a successful 2nd pro season would be for him to replicate what Ogle did last year in Bristol.

I love the 2017 draft class, but at the same time, aside from Baz, who was a consensus top draft prospect, the rest of the guys have to show more to be considered over other guys that are further along in their development.

Has Gage Hinsz at #14, Travis McGregor #20 and Yeudy Garcia at #22 also, so take their rankings with a grain of salt. I do think that Jennings is a much better prospect than the other 3 right now, though. And none of those three are going on the list for #25.

Always willing to hear who you guys want in the poll, of course.

I don't think any of those three are particularly compelling at the moment.

Yeudy and Hinsz were projects, and while I don't expect all prospects to have clean development trajectories. Those two are the kind of guys, that once they go off the rails as much as they did in 2016, it's hard to see them having MLB careers. Hinsz is still very young, so he could potentially be a prospect again, but he's in a "show me" phase. MacGregor also didn't develop well last year, until proven otherwise, hard to see him as a prospect.
