Is Harrison the Next Player to Leave

With the acquisition of Dickerson this afternoon, I wonder if the Bucs are attempting to trade Josh Harrison. They like what Frazier brings to the lead off spot, and it now does not appear he will get very little playing time in left field. It appears that Frazier will be groomed for second base, which puts a question on the future of Jay Hay in Pittsburgh.

Not sure where. The Yankees just got Drury yesterday, which I thought was the best fit for Harrison.

I would move Harrison so Frazier can play. I feared Harrison's contract would hurt the team once it hit the double digit million dollar range. It seems to be doing that in the trade market.

Freese could be released now.

Interesting development. They need Frazier's hitting and lead off skills so he now looks like a supersub. But where does that leave Rodriguez? Maybe S-Rod is the next to go?

Nah, I would still want to keep Rodriguez. Rodriguez is still the best defensive player on the team right now and did provide some pop off the bench/part time role in 2016.

I think Freese goes before Rodriguez. Rodriguez can play all of Freese's positions and is better. There might be a big battle for the bench now.

I agree. I would think this assures that Luplow and Osuna are sent to the minors. Freese, SRod and Frazier to the bench. I would think Frazier plays the super sub role. SRod will be a late inning defensive replacement and Freese is the 1st off the bench to PH. Good move. This certainly makes the lineup better.

There is literally no market for Harrison. The Yanks got Drury; Toronto got two middle infielders in the offseason ... Milwaukee just has to put Villar at second ... the Muts? They don't want to give up Nimmo. Those were the contenders.

Managers love guys like Harrison. I could see a big payroll team adding him as a pricey super-utility guy.

Freese and Harrison will both be gone in short order.  You don't talk back to the Neal like they did publicly and live to tell about it!!   8-)

Don't care about Freese but I hope to heck we don't sell JHay into this headwind of a buyers market.  Please don't give that guy away for nothing... That would be a disservice to fans and to him really.

Would you trade Harrison for some Single A guys?

I think his salary is too high for that close to major league ready player. Freese might be more attractive at this point.

Harrison will want to stay now that we signed Dickerson. After we sign Arrieta, he will ask to extend his extension!
