I just read that the Bucs shut down Musgrove today to be examined by the medical staff. I will be anxious to hear any injury update tomorrow.

Right shoulder discomfort. Had the same issue last year.

It’s not even March yet and this Pirates season just keeps getting better and better. Now one of the key pieces in the Cole deal has shoulder pain and probably won’t be pitching for awhile.

Hopefully it's just precaution as happens a lot this time of the year.

I think Musgrove is pitching in Thursday’s game. He will only have a little over two weeks before his turn would come up in the rotation. I am wondering if he will begin the season on the DL and remain in Florida to make a rehab start or two. The Pirates could have Brault fill in for Musgrove for his first couple starts this season.

I'm thinking the same thing.

My guess is that they’ll slot him into the #5 slot. They won’t need him until the second week. That gives him closer to 4 weeks to get ready.
