With 3 open spots on the 40-man roster, would the Pirates will be willing to take a shot on Kyle Zimmer (released by the Royals). He's still 26 and he has not even been close to healthy, but when healthy, his numbers in the minors have been good.

He seems like the type of player the Pirates FO would target to see if they can catch lightning.
