I'd like to get the bats going again. Individual batting averages are dipping. Timely hitting is still most important, but I liked that overall threat.

Silly to say this is a big game. But it feels like big today. Keep pressure on the division.

This early in the season, those averages were at an unrealistic level. Baseball is a game where failure to hit 7 times out of 10 is considered good. It's great when multiple players have hot bats but hitting is tough and there will always be games where the hits are few and far between. Even the 1927 Yankees scored 2 or fewer runs 28 times. What impressed me last night was that they won when the hits weren't falling. The pitching shut out the Marlins and Marte and Dickerson took a different route and bunted for hits in the 9th when nothing else seemed to be working to spark the lone rally. The Bucs have been held to 1 run only twice and they won both games! That's pretty good.

I would have given Harrison a day off. His at bats have been awful and Frazier really worked a walk last night.

I agree VA I want the Pirates to beat as many of these bad teams as possible they have early on on their schedule. The Cardinals are on the verge of sweeping a 4 game series against the Reds today who are just awful and you don’t want them creeping back up on you by taking advantage of a weak winnable schedule while you yourself could not.
