Still hasn’t struck out yet this year hitting. Curious what the record is for ab’s to begin a season without a strikeout?

Among active players, its 29 games by Mookie Bette last year. Brault is the active leader now at 21 games.



This is any period of a season, not just the start of a season. Brault goes back to 2016.

Since he doesn’t strike out maybe they should let him play in the field the days he doesn’t pitch. He couldn’t do much worse hitting then some of the guys now in the lineup. With any type of timely hitting the Bucs should have split this 4 game series.

Just because he isn't striking out doesn't mean he is hitting. Only Rodriguez and Polanco have a lower average.

Brault's a hitter. Watch his at bats. He works counts and gets "non pitcher" swings on pitches in the strike zone. He notably stands out among pitchers with the bat in his hands.

There's a clear secondary value to having him on the roster and especially in the rotation because of the way he controls the bat. If pitchers are comparable to him on the mound, he's definitely got to get the nod.



1) he's a lefty and our rotation has none

2) he can hit



Brault wins all tie-breakers imo
