Tough, hard fought win.

Big hits in the 9th by Diaz and Moran (go ahead 2-run HR)

2 good innings of relief from Brault.

Day off tomorrow, and then Cutch and the Giants this weekend.

They were down 4 runs yesterday and today and won both games. They just keep bouncing back.

I don't think anyone is going to worry about how unathletic Colin Moran is, or how thick his beard is, if he keeps hitting like this.

HUGE win today. Totally unexpected after being shut down into the 6th inning and down 4 runs again.

Clutch hit by Diaz, jacks by Mercer and Polanco and superb bullpen work ... again.

I cannot fully explain what this team is doing, and I'm still (very) worried about starting pitching, but I am absolutely loving it!

The Bucs are now a combined 12-3 against the Tigers,White Sox,Reds, and Marlins. They are beating the bad teams on their schedule so far this season through the first 6 weeks and winning within their division. They keep that up they will continue to stay well over .500 and be in contention for both the division and a wildcard spot. I said starting with this Sox series they had 11 of their next 14 games against the White Sox Padres and Reds and they at least needed to go 9-5 in that stretch. Well so far they are 2-0 and starting Friday they play 15 of their next 18 games at PNC park until May 31st. Time to keep it going and stay in this race the next 3 weeks in May heading into June.

They are also 8-2 against the Cubs, Cards and Brewers. Short of the northeast glitches, they are playing better than everyone else.

Crazy to say maybe, but I think these two wins are huge and set the stage for competing this summer. As Freddie highlights, the rest of this month is an opportunity to add to the “W” column. Without these two wins the Pirates are bearly above .500 and 2 1/2 back. This is like two gifts.

Real good chance the Pirates will be in 1st place entering June.

Few of us expected anything decent from this team. But other teams must be wondering, as they said in "Butch and Sundance," Who are these guys?

Real good chance the Pirates will be in 1st place entering June.  I think they have a good shot to be in 1st place going into June. 9 out of those next 15 of 18 games at home are against the White Sox,Padres and Reds and they finish it up with 2 huge series at home Memorial Day weekend against both the Cardinals and Cubs. Go even 11-7 or 10-8 in these next 18 games which is very very doable and the Pirates record will be through 55 games 32-23 or 31-24 which should keep them either right near or in 1st place going into June.

Come from behind wins help give teams confidence just as blowing leads can destroy confidence. Glad to get some of these early in the season no matter who the opponent.
