I thought I would point out that, as of today, every starter other than Dickerson is putting up negative defensive runs saved under BIS measurements (used by Baseball Reference). In the NL, only Colorado has a bigger deficit between team ERA and FIP. Most teams above the Pirates in the standings have significant positive gaps between team ERA and FIP.

Mercer, Marte, and Harrison aren't positive defensive players according to the stats? If that is the case, that is why I don't trust defensive stats.



In my opinion and observation Moran, Frazier, Bell, Diaz, and Polanco have been below average. Cervelli average. Dickerson, Rodriguez, Harrison, Marte all above average. Mercer is still above average, but not as good as seasons past.
