I was messing around with Baseball-Reference's Play Index to see if Bruce Kison had the most pitcher wins for the Pirates in the 1970s. I don't actually subscribe, so the results come up in masked form, but it looks like Kison's 81 wins did, indeed, lead the team for the decade. That seems a shockingly small total for a team that averaged about 92 wins for the decade.

Luke Walker was tied for #9 on the most wins in the 70s list, with just 36. Nos. 2 through whoever was tied with Walker are masked, so if anyone wants to they can fill in the blanks:

81: Kison

80:

79:

70:

61:

53:

47:

47:

36:

36: Walker

As shame that Blass and his control went way, way south and that Moose was taken from us and the team so early in life and his career by in an auto accident. He most certainly would have finished at worst in 2nd or 3rd place. Interesting fact that connects Moose and Mr & Mrs Possum is that the same photographer took the wedding pix for the Moose couple and the Possum couple.

I always thought it was interesting that Blass and Rooker sort-of shared a career, born within a few months of each other but Blass losing it just as Rooker was getting his career on-track.
