I am not a Hurdle fan, but the manager has to have a few horses to work with. I doubt that the Never (mind) auskus is the answer.
And while Rodriguez has been less than dependable lately after an unbelievable run at the beginning of the year, I would still much rather see him in a game than Feliz. Feliz is basically unusable at this point. Why is Feliz up when Rodriguez is down?
This Cubs series is shaping up as one ugly weekend.
The long men in the pen - Brault and Glasnow - have both been hit pretty hard in their most recent outings, and Glasnow is not a good candidate to bounce back after throwing 2 innings yesterday.
Vasquez barely survived on Wednesday Crick has generally been okay of late, but he too was getting hit on Wednesday.
Santana has been the best of the bunch, but he has been used less than I would have expected.
If Kuhl gets hit hard and early, not sure that the Bucs even have a pen that can keep the Cubs under double digit runs.
My expectations for this season were not all that great, but I am now really starting to enter a deep depressive state regarding Pirate baseball for the year.

Bullpen has been over used, tired. Hurdle has said that. This seems like a move to get an extra rested arm in the bullpen if needed.

I will be very surprised if this weekend is not a Cubs sweep.
