Kingham Pitches Only One Inning Tonight

Just looked at Indy boxscore tonight and Kingham pitched only one inning. He only gave up a single hit, so I hope he did not get hurt. On the other side maybe the Bucs are going to rest Nova and let Kingham pitch in his spot against the Cubs on Tuesday.

They were just speculating about that on the radio.

They said that Kingham was not injured.

They said he might start on Tuesday here, but they emphasized that that was just speculation.

It appears Kingham is back.
Since it hasn't been 10 days yet since he was optioned, he can only be brought back due to an injury. So someone has to go on the DL. Maybe Nova will have a phantom injury that gives him some time off and a chance to make some rehab starts???

In the last 365 days, 64 pitchers have thrown 150+ innings. Nova is 54th in ERA (4.76) and 2nd in home runs allowed.
We are waisting innings on him that could be used on more talented, younger, and currently more effective starters.
Nova has discomfort in his ERA+

Only if someone other than 1 of the current starters goes on the DL. The Pirates are required by MLB rules to put someone on the DL in order to bring Kingham back in less than 10 days.

Or he might have strained his neck watching the HRs sail out.
