Watching Sunday's game I was really impressed with Colin Moran's approach and the way he hit two opposite field singles. I have not seen him hit that often, but those hits were not by mistake---that looks like a pretty advanced swing.

It also makes me think he is open to using the entire field, and somewhat taking what the pitcher allows. That is fine with me, but it might be an indication this guy will strive for solid contact (higher average) rather than just be a slave to power.

Every report and stat shows he can hit. I would love to see him pull more down the line, but of course you need the right pitches for that. If he keeps going the opposite way, maybe pitchers will throw some more inside pitches.

Agreed. That is the way guys like George Brett and Don Mattingly did it. Either one of those guys could have gone more power if they chose. Their approaches would be great ones to follow.

Yes, he will hit. The question was whether he would develop power. I like his approach a lot. IMO he will have to generate 15-20 HR power to be successful. His defense and lack of foot speed, athleticism won't matter as much if he can hit for some power.

You can like Moran but still think the overall package wasn't good enough

True, but that wasn't this poster's stance at all. Cracks me up.
