Will they try to win tonight? You never know. Frazier is out. Once again Hurdle rewards a player who's hitting well by allowing him to sit on the bench.

Bell with a 3-run shot.
He looks so much more comfortable at the plate compared to early this year.

josh Bell with a 3 run HR!
4-0
David Freese was on 1st due to pure hustle, beating out an infield hit. Guy’s a winner.

Thank goodness the Pirates gave Williams an extra day of rest. Genius move, which I support 100% !!!

Solid win tonight and bounce back from last night. As I pointed out last night a win tonight guaranteed the Pirates pick up 1 full game and would be 4 games out and that is exactly what happened tonight. The DBacks and Dodgers both lose tonight as well so the Pirates are 3 back of both of them, and a 1.5 behind both the Cards and Rockies. So this will set up yet another big Sunday afternoon game with an opportuinity to cut the wildcard lead down to 3 games with a win and a Brewers win over the Braves. Kela threw 9 pitches and Vazquez threw 11 pitches so both of them should definitely be available tomorrow along with Crick,Santana, and Rodriguez. So let’s get this one tomorrow and make this a 5-2 trip heading into Minnesota with both Jamo and Archer on the mound in those games.
