Pirates Prospects is reporting that Jacob Cruz is the Pirates new Assistant Hitting Coach. He was previously the Cubs minor league hitting coach.

Does anyone truly wonder how some of these guys who were mediocre to average hitters in their baseball careers become hitting coaches?

They say Ted Williams was a lousy manager because he got frustrated with the abilities of all the average players he had to coach.
