MLB Trade Rumors is saying Nova to White Sox. Not yet announced who is being returned

I'm surprised. I did not expect any moves by NH. Is this to open a spot for some of the AAA pitchers ready to move up, or is there a chance they'll try to bring someone in?

I think they might bring in a lefty starter due to the left handed hitters in their division

This is great! I was hoping for a Nova trade. I'll be interested to see who is coming back. Hopefully, they either ate some salary and will get a better player in return, or will use the salary this frees up to actually improve the team. I'm not holding my breath, but without knowing any other specifics, this is a good move.

I would assume that means a minor leaguer

If this is the return I hope they use the money saved to add to the major league team.

Nova is an enigma. However, I felt at the four slot, the rotation would be fine. I'm sure we aren't getting much in return as far as a prospect, but to clear salary. This is a good move only if they REINVEST this saved money on nothing that helps, not a reclamation project.

Sure it does. Pittsburgh doesn't want to pay on a contract in this deal. Would love Dane Dunning, but that ain't happening. Ian Hamilton? Probably not. Connor Pilkington probably moreso.

I am 1000% opposed to this move ... opposed to trading away legitimate, proven starting MLB pitching. Nova is a very solid No. 4 or No. 5 guy.

I am COMPLETELY opposed. We need MORE starting pitching. Not less. Makes no sense ... UNLESS this is part of a plan to go out and get a real LH starter along the likes of Happ or Miley or Gio or heck even RHP Morton. And I know good and well that's not about to happen.
