The Bucs have signed Tom Koehler on a minor league contract, but with no invitation to ST. He will be rehabbing most of this year due to shoulder surgery.

It's called throwing a bunch of crap against the wall to see what sticks. TBMTIB signs numerous cheap possibilities just in case 1 or 2 work out. This one is pretty unlikely. If you added up the money spent on dumpster diving each year; you could have probably had enough to sign an actual quality player

According to MLB Trade Rumors the Pirates also have a club option for 2020 on this contract.

Neal may be thinking he can replace Taillon if he Jameson is dealt this season. Got to do something to restock the farm system (and save money, if Jameson has a great season he will cost a lot in 2020)
