Yu gotta love Bull Durham, But Man I Enjoy Major League and all the characters and antics in it. On a more serious side, The Natural is still one of my favorite movies...Kinda cool the Knights battle the Pirates the division...

Fever Pitch was on the other night. That movie is great. Classic romantic comedy, but those of us psycho baseball fans can totally identify with Ben's (Jimmy Fallon's character) obsession with the Red Sox...and the bewilderment of the rest of the world. It's a fun movie!

good list. I like It Happens Every Spring quite a bit.

I've still never seen the original Angels in the Outfield all the way through.

The Natural always bugs me since the movie ending is totally opposite of the book (I had read the book for a literature class in high school).

As much as I've always loved baseball, I generally don't enjoy baseball movies. But I loved 8 Men Out, Bull Durham and League of Their Own. I never like Major League because I liked "Slap Shot" (1977) and Major League (1989) was a blatant ripoff of that film without giving it credit by acknowledging that Major League was a remake substituting baseball for hockey.

I put Fever Pitch at the top of baseball movies. It captured the essence of a Red Sox fan. Great love story, hilarious, actual ML baseball footage. Gotta love the Yankee toilet paper. They actually had to change the ending during shooting. It originally was going to be another Red Sox heart ache. But they won the World Series in 2004 after coming back 3-0 deficit to the Yanks.

After Fever Pitch, I have to throw in an old classic. Pride of the Yankees. It seems dated by today’s standards; but it still brings tears to the eyes. Classic final scene when Lou Gehrig ( Gary Cooper) gives his classic speech and slowly walks from the field and into the shadows of the dugout tunnel.

One of my personal favorites was the Rookie. Great true story about Jimmy Morris.
