I wish the regular season games were.

Mitch Keller struggles in his first appearance against what looks to have been a number of Twins' regulars. Feliz was able to work two innings, which is interesting in that I don't think he will ever work multiple innings in the regular season.



The core of what will be the Indy 2019 team rallies in their second time at the plate, with Reynolds, Kramer and Martin getting RBI.

Brandon Maurer having a rough outing in this game. His chances of making the team are slim, and this outing will not help his chances.

Nice 2 innings by Brubaker this afternoon. He may become a player to keep an eye on this season. He seems like one of these players who was under the radar, but after last season he became a player to watch.

From my view, they have 4 bullpen spots that are locked up:Vazquez, Kela, Crick and Rodriguez. Lyles, Kingham and Brault are battling for the final rotation spot. I think all three of them are ahead of Maurer to occupy on rotation spot, and two BP spots. I think it's more likely that Brault or Kingham win that spot. I think Brault would be more likely to end up in the BP should he lose that battle with Kingham either being traded or exposed on waivers. So best case for Maurer is that those three only take up 1 BP spot, so that leaves two more spots. I see Feliz and Liriano as having the inside track, they could also choose to stash Kingham in a swing role over these two.



So basically, many weird things have to happen from someone like Lyons or Maurer to make the OD roster.

When building the bullpen you must remember Burdi as a good candidate to break camp. I think they like his arm so notwithstanding a trade with the Twins in order to send him to the minors, they must carry him for the first 60 days of the season or offer him back to the Twins.

I agree about Vazquez, Kela, Crick and Rodriguez. Next, we have to consider that the BP needs a LHP besides closer Vazquez if not two. That means Brault, Liriano or Lyons and possibly 2 of them. That leaves 1 or 2 spots. Burdi is a rule 5 so he gets priority, but that's no sure thing. And then there's Kingham if he doesn't start. No room for Maurer unless he's lights out in ST.

I guess being undefeated through-out the spring training schedule was a bit too high of a bar for this team.



Looks like the season is already beginning to crash.
