Wow, that sounds weird. But Moran is doing good in limited time.

Kang looks completely lost at the plate. He's being given a steady diet of off-speed stuff. Swinging and missing. If he doesn't soon start producing, Hurdle is going to have to sit him.

Not just the off-speed problems Kang seems to be going for the high FB that is out of the zone and he misses more of those than he makes contact with.

He was streaky before, too. Give him another week and I bet he'll be mashing it. I hate seeing Moran at third. It's like putting an air conditioning unit out there.

Yes, that's the problem. Moran is a butcher at 3B. I like the way he's currently being used and, even at that, he's already made 3 errors in 22 innings at 3B. Unfortunately, Kang looks completely lost. But we know he can do better. I suspect if he doesn't turn it around soon he will be diagnosed with one of those injuries that every struggling Pirate seems to get and have a chance to rehab his swing in AAA.

I'm surprised he's taking this long, but not worried yet. Another couple weeks and he's going to need to go down to AAA and get his timing there.

This is good example of why it's important to roster the team with defensively capable players. Kang has hit nothing and isn't totally killing the team while doing so because he's making plays.

I'd move him down the order and give him another 5-6 games before doing anything.

If Moran wants to pull the ball now.. and hit homers, he will need to get his defense back up to last year's "really bad" instead of his current "godawful"

So far I've been wrong about everything this season, so maybe do the opposite.

Moran has become a very good clutch hitter. He lacks speed, and he has his defensive difficulties, but lately you hope to see him up to bat with runners in scoring position. If I remember correctly last September he came off the bench, and he had a couple big hits for the Pirates.

If it's a critical AB, I'm looking for Josh Bell, Melky or Moran. Who would have believed that preseason?!

I agree what you are saying, with Dickerson on the IL, Cervelli has been awful so far, and Gonzalez is hitting above the.200 level the 3 players you mentioned are carrying our offense.

Actually Frazer should be included as well. He's carrying his load.
