He and Rookie Davis were recalled. Feliz to AAA. Stratton to IL. Chisenhall to 60 day IL to add Davis to 40-man. Chisenhall's 60 days (retroactive) should be up by the time his rehab is done so this is more of a paper move. But when he comes off, someone must go off the 40-man. Now that Neverauskas is back with his 37.80 ERA, some of those other BP ERAs don't look so bad.

Despite my pleas never to see him again in Pittsburgh, they continue not to listen to me.

I know at this time there is no one to replace him, but the next time he leaves the roster it should be designated for assignment. He is not major league caliber.

Just looked at Neverauskis career MLB record, and he has surrendered 42 earned runs in 54 innings. That is almost a run an inning. I knew he has struggled, but that is not very good.

The Pirate BP has a combined ERA of 4.62. But excluding Vazquez, Liriano and Crick, the BP ERA is 6.23.

Sad stats:

Neverauskas 18.90

Kingham 8.10 in relief (10.13 as starter)

Hartlieb 7.36

Brault 6.11 in relief (9.39 as starter)

DuRapau 6.23

Not currently on the roster:

Lyons 11.25

Burdi 9.35

Feliz 8.25

Stratton 5.54

Rodriguez 5.49

Kela 4.63

Other than Vazquez (1.25), Liriano (0.77) and Crick (2.20) the only ones not to embarrass themselves (yet) are Davis (3.00) and Holmes (3.48).

And then there are the starters: all 3 of them.

Lyles 2.81

Musgrove 4.27 (8.25 ERA for his 5 May starts)

Archer 5.75.

I guess the Pirates aren't going to need to copyright their instructional manual on how to build a team on pitching.

Among NL bullpens, Pirate relievers have the 3rd worst ERA (4.62), walked the 4th most and gave up the 4th most hits. :(

Who’dve thunk we’d miss Kuhl and Santana so much.
