This must mean both Marte and Gonzalez are going on the IL following their collision. Newman is already on the IL so it would appear Tucker is going to be the SS for awhile. Reynolds has been playing CF for Indy and is hitting .367 with 5 HRs. He and Crick came from SF in the Cutch trade.

So that means for the near future that we have 2 rookies and a seemingly washed up 5th OF who is playing like an all-star to batten down the hatches and full speed ahead me maties!

CH has been pulling most of the right strings so far this season and maybe he can continue pulling them for a bit.

Amazing.

Oh, and best record in National League.

MIND-BOGGLING.

Man I hope like crazy that Cole Tucker is the real deal. That would be AWESOME for this franchise.

any updates on the injuries? update: just saw this on ML Trade Rumors:

Per a team release, Marte will hit the 10-day IL with an “abdominal wall contusion,” while Gonzalez will be placed on the 60-day IL with a fractured left clavicle.

Gonzalez is on the 60-day DL with a fractured left clavicle. Looks like Tucker could be starting for a long time.

The past two games Hurdle has batted Tucker 8th. I don’t think Tucker should be batting eighth. Either he should bat lead off with Frazier behind him or second behind Frazier. Tucker can steal bases so he should be at the top of the order. Since Cervelli has been struggling, he would be a good candidate to bat eighth.

Also, the 8th hitter doesn't see many good pitches to hit because the pitcher is not worried about the guy batting behind him. Not ideal for a rookie just getting his feet wet in MLB.

Reynolds has now had a hit in ten games. He gets a hit on Saturday, and he will tie Polanco for the record for hits in consecutive games when getting called up to the majors.

Reynolds with a single tonight ties Polanco for 11 games starting a career with a hit. Nice!
