Maybe they just want to get lefties in there. LHers are hitting Woodruff at a .800 vs 537 for righties.

interesting though, maybe an experiment.

Marte is 3 for 7 (.429) with a HR lifetime vs Woodruff. But you know how obsessed CH is with resting players. And Cabrera, Reynolds and Polanco are a good hitting OF.

I sorta get the lefty approach, but ---

- Marte has been hitting much better the past 10+ games.

- He has actually shown some hustle and desire in running the bases.

- He has a good track record against Woodruff, even though it is a very limited number of at bats.

- While I have suggested trading him, he clearly is the best defensive OF'er on the team and playing him eliminates a weak defender in at least one position (in this case either Polanco or Cabrera).

So yeah, it must be the 'rest' obsession.

The Marlins just took it to the Brewers in 2 of their recent games. The Bucs could have done much better in the last homestand against the Brewers if the pen hadn't melted so badly. While I don't believe the Pirates are a real contender, I want them to play each game as if it were their last and to put the best team on the field to try and win.

In short, I would play Marte tonight.

Reynolds is called out on what is clearly ball 4. Need electronic strike zone! So tired of umpire incompetence.

They go to Robbie in the stands to share the fascinating story of how Davis got the nickname "Rookie." The story is that Davis' father said "Let's just call him Rookie." Wow, they sure don't make stories like that anymore. What would we do without Robbie? ::)

And he told the story in the 2nd inning. Best not to wait because Rookie probably won't be around very long. 2-0, 2 on, no outs.

With Polanco on 1st and no out Diaz swings through what would have been ball 4, easily. I hate when batters can’t take a critical walk. that’s a rally killer.

Kingham!!!

Kills our comeback by immediately giving up a 3 run bomb by Braun.

It is absolutely inexcusable that he is still on the roster and there has not been any quality pitching brought in by the FO
