Bell now has as many RBIs (81) as Marte did last year when he led the team. I know it's become popular the past few years to de-emphasize RBIs. Of course, other than a HR, a player can't get an RBI unless the batters ahead of him get on base. But when you see a player like Bell racking up the RBIs it shows how important it is to have someone consistently come thru with runners on base.

Holmes beans Bote to force in a run. Luckily Bote seems to be ok but that looked nasty. Since Madden had previously complained about the Bucs throwing inside, the ump warned both dugouts after the beaning.

Bad inning, that started with a double that could have been caught. Marte just misplayed that. Still can't give up all those hits.

Hoorah! the Black Bears won at Williamsport this afternoon. That big victory made my supper very palatable.
Tomorrow is another day in the life of this baseball nut. Black Bears finish up the series in Williamsport tomorrow and Saturday and return home to host the Auburn Doubledays Sunday through Tuesday. The Black Bears are in 4th in their Division only 1 game back of first place Batavia.
And the Bucs host the Brew Crew in a 3 game series before the AS break.

It would have been nice to sweep the Cubs but taking 3 out of 4 worked as well and the Pirates are still both 3 back in division and wildcard races as the Brewers come to town to begin a huge series this weekend. I like the Pirates chances of winning 2 out of 3 I think they are very good.
