Great 3rd inning highlighted by Musgrove's double and headfirst slide into the plate.

The old run on contact against a drawn in infield. Guaranteed to be an out every time. Maybe the "We're smarter than everyone else" Pirates need to consult more statistical analysis on that lame brained strategy.

Greg Brown needs to learn some Pirates history. After the Jim Rooker interview he says Rooker did not have "a real, huge resume with the Pirates in terms of being on the mound. He'd been with a couple other clubs."

Rooker began his career with Detroit for 1 season. Then 4 years with KC and 8 years with the Pirates. He had seasons winning 10, 13, 14 and 15 (twice) games and was 2nd on the staff in wins in 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977. Rooker was a key member of the Pirates rotation. I'd say that was a "real, huge resume with the Pirates in terms of being on the mound."

I had his baseball card at one time (probably still do) and from it remember he started out as an outfielder.

Dave Parker looks like he is putting up a good fight against Parkinson's.

He hit .305 in 1974 in 95 ABs. In 1969 with KC he hit .281 with 4 HRs.
