Just read an article that Gonzalez rehab ends on August 5th, and if Kang gets 15 more plate appearances he gets an additional $625 grand. No way Nutting is going to let that happen. Jung Ho is about gone!

Seeing that $625,000, I'm inclined to agree. Still, it was a worthwhile trial - Kang has/had such power potential that NH would have been remiss not to try to tap into it. At this point it seems that whatever Kang had is gone now.

If I am Nutting, and NH allows Kang to reach this incentive level, this alone should be grounds to fire NH.



Kang has shown little to nothing at the plate and is striking out at an alarming rate. He also is on an expiring contract.



Perhaps the Players Union will try to make an issue of the Bucs cutting Kang at this point, but even the players should recognize that if you don't produce that management should be able to take you off a roster when they choose.

I could be wrong, but I think Kang still has one minor league option remaining. If that's true, it's an easy decision- he will be optioned before getting those 15. If not, he will probably be designated for assignment. Either way, Gonzalez will probably rejoin the team soon.
