Omar Moreno has been fired as a minor league instructor. I wonder if any other instructors or scouts have been let go.

This was reported by Dejan who says Moreno was fired by minor league director Larry Broadway without the knowledge of Nutting or Travis Williams. Kyle Stark is Broadway's boss and it is speculated that Broadway, Stark and others in the organization will soon be fired when a new GM is named. So why are they firing Moreno now?



Per DK:

This past summer, Moreno expressed his concerns to Huntington and Stark via an email to both men that prospects in the Pirates' system weren't being given a consistent message, that they were hearing too many voices. He also expressed a concern that he wasn't permitted to spend one-on-one time with the prospects he'd been hired to instruct.



The latter's been universally expressed over the years, by the way, by countless baseball people under Huntington. Their voices weren't heard, by prospects or anyone over their heads. And when they did speak up, they'd be demoted or fired.



DK also speculates that "This will be resolved."



All I know is what was reported by DK in DKPittsburghSports.com. If he's right, it seems like an odd situation. It remains to be seen if he's right or not.

It does sound as though more house cleaning needs to be done.

Williams should put personnel decisions on hold until he has a GM. Much like it made no sense for NH to be interviewing managerial candidates, it makes no sense for someone who might be fired making decisions to fire people.

Nothing but a circus.

DK is reporting tonight that Travis Williams contacted Moreno and assured him there will be a job for him in the organization to be specified upon he appointment of the next GM.

So Omar Moreno is essentially Williams' first hire?
