Ben Cherington lured Steve Sanders from Toronto to    become an assistant GM  according to a report from Jason Mackey. Sanders was  Director of Amateur of Scouting for the Jays. Sounds like an excellent hire.

Very good hire when you consider Toronto's prospects or first year guys.

Also good to have some folks around you who you know and can trust, and who bring a fresh perspective to an organization that clearly was in need of such.

Wow. I've gotta say, the Bucs are on a roll this offseason. Williams, Cherington, Shelton, now Sanders. They keep impressing me. Like another poster said, I don't know anything about Sanders, personally, but their track record in drafting and developing players (see Guerrero, Vladimir Jr. as one example) speaks for itself.
