Top prospect poll

As some of you know, I've run the prospect poll on here for the last couple of years. The response has been underwhelming in general. Do we want to have a poll this year?

And, if so, do we include Mitch Keller. He has the service time necessary to no longer be a rookie, but the cutoff is 50 innings and he has 48 (in 11 starts). If we follow precedent, when Josh Bell had 129 AB in his first year we still included him.

I see no reason to stop doing it unless you are tired of doing it. When I see it going up on the board I will pin it to the top of the board.

I appreciate your effort. It's just that, outside of the top 3-5 I don't know enough about the system to really add anything. I think it's a useful tool to alert fans like me on who to keep and eye on.

In the end it comes down to whether you're willing to put up with the effort needed. I do enjoy it (it's something baseball in the off-season) and compare the results to other polls, but you may be sick of it. If you do decide to do it I would include Keller, just to be consistent with past practices.

I think we should cut it off at 20.

Yeah you've been doing a great job. I think the sleepy offseasons had meant fewer people were visiting, so so the votes were a bit lower.

I personally lose interest in the back half. I like to vote and lay my case out on the first 10 or so choices.

I would participate and I think Keller should stay in.

Cutting off at 20 would be fine with me.

Supposedly the Pirate farm team is ranked around 15 now so there may not be as much depth as in past years.

One reason I hope we have a poll this year is that it will serve as the baseline for the administration. The Bucs have four draft picks in the top 100 and it's quite likely that Cherington will add more young talent via trades.

This year's list could look very different next year.

I would love a poll. Stop it at 20 and lets wait and see what happens with Marte and possibly Bellk before we do one. I have a feeling we will have some new talent coming in for that poll.
