If memory serves, we gave up Tarpley in the trade that brought in Francisco Cervelli. I think we got him in a trade with the Orioles. He's a lefty who, frankly, looks better than any lefty reliever on our 40-man. Go get em, BC!

Tarpley and Brault came from the Orioles for Travis Snider Tarpley was expected to be the better of the two pitchers. But he was injury prone and dealt to NY for Ivan Nova. He did well in AAA last year but was terrible when the Yankees recalled him.

Thanks, Bobster. Memory doesn't serve as well as it used to! ::)

We all know NH's faults and he's not here any more for a reason, but that's a pretty good trade tree.

A friend of mine is the clubhouse manager for the Aberdeen Ironbirds, the low A Orioles farm team where Tarpley started. He often talked about what a great guy Tarpley is. Tarpley was a disaster for NY last year as a rookie in 21 games. But the LHP has done very well in AA and AAA and 21 games is hardly enough to give up on a pitcher. Neverauskas has been in 59 games for the Pirates and they still haven't given up on him. I'd like to see the Pirates take a flier on Tarpley.

This is what I know about Tarpley; he is a lefty.

I also understand that he is a lefty, and that he mostly pitched at AAA last year.

Did I mention that he is a lefty.

Good enough for me. Sign him.

he probably deserves a major league contract from a team like the Bucs.  I hope they get him.

Tigers were able to send Dario Agrazal to minors so Bucs had no interest in putting him on the roster.
