Yardbarker Power Rankings

Post by MaineBucs »

I typically don't pay much attention to power rankings, particularly ones before any games have been played, but in these desperate times of searching for any morsel of dignity and hope I note the following ---

Yardbarker ranked the Pirates # 27 out of 30 teams. The Orioles, Mariners and Tigers were ranked as worse teams than the Pirates.

So --- the good news.

Hey, we are not at the bottom!

Polls like this have no meaning.

So --- the bad news.

We are ranked as the worst team in the NL.

If this analysis is accurate, we will not get the top draft pick.

Regardless if we are considered number 25 or number 30, there is a lot of bad baseball on the horizon.

Currently ranked 28th in payroll https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/ those power rankings indicate that we're already overachieving by 1 spot!!!!

The season is off to a great start with this new management team!  ::)

How in the world can there be 3 teams worse than the Pirates?

I wonder how many of 3 teams are closer to moving way up in the rankings.
