Whether you like the Yankees or not they knew how to find talent and had enough money to keep it .

I never minded the Yankees and the way they went about their business. If you wanted to beatthem, you had to work harder than they did.



Sure, they were over the top a lot (George vs. Martin vs. Reggie, etc.), but you could never say they weren't trying to win. The Steinbrenner's ALWAYS put their team first, and in a position to win.



I'd like to see that just one time from Bob... :-[

The Yankees have historically enjoyed an advantage over most of MLB because of their money. They sign free agents others can't afford. They trade for players others can't afford. And when a player they counted on doesn't work out, they can afford to just go and get someone else.

Look at their better recent years. The Yankees have done decently at homegrown talent and acquiring talent through trade, too. That gets overlooked.



Other teams- not naming names- not so much.
