What Summer Without Baseball Looks Like

Post by GreenWeenie »

When the history of mankind is written, I'm thinking that the year 2020 won't be one of the better years, disappointing to say. A summer without baseball is just salt in all the other wounds.

The good news is- 2021 isn't all that far away, and we get another chance.

One thing that has surprised me is how little I miss it.

When it's back I'll be back, but for the time being I'm fine.

I must admit I miss tuning into a ballgame. I like to listen to the postgame on the flagship radio network. It is a darn shame the owners and players cannot agree on an arrangement for a partial season. It sounds like a July 4th Opening Day is no longer a possibility. Both parties are very stubborn because I am sure they are aware that getting back to playing baseball even without fans would help many individuals who have struggled through this period by giving them hope that life is getting back to normal.

The team profiled in that article, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, is on the chopping block for MiLB contraction. So they are probably done for good, not just this summer.
