Okay, how many games is Evans going to start? Regularly I hope. Shelty has things more as I like them with Bell at DH and Column at 1B. Polonco? We shall see.

I thought Tucker would start at SS tonight after getting 2 hits last night. But I guess it's Gonzalez's turn to play. Polanco in RF tonight.

Other than both Kramer and Tucker being out with injuries, there's no acceptable reason to ever start Gonzalez.

Musgrove has gone 5.2 innings, 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, 2 HRs and 8 Ks. 3 ER in 5.2 innings = an ERA of 4.76. 8 Ks is nice but the rest is not. This was not a good outing. Not quietly. Not by any stretch. This was the kind of start you expect from a #4 starter which is what Musgrove should be on a real pitching staff. It's bad enough that Block refuses to stop talking but it's even worse that he has no idea what he's talking about.

yeah, that is a big problem with Pirates. Musgrove is not a top starter. He may be a great team mate and always gives his best but his talent is at at the bottom of the rotation.

One of Musgrove's strengths was his ability to help himself with the bat. He could lay down a bunt, he had 2 doubles and a triple last year and he ran the bases aggressively. Now with a DH his only value is his work on the mound and that's not at the level they need it to be.

Who'd we give away to get that guy again?
