This is the St.L broadcast of Bob Gibson's no-hitter at TRS on 8/14/71.

The announcers were Jack Buck and "The Possum" Jim Woods. It's great to hear Woods' voice again. He and the Gunner were a great team for the Pirates.

Interesting. Sounds like the current “Sunday Lineup Scenario” as Murtaugh decided to rest Clemente, Hebner, and Sanguillen in favor of Davallio in RF, Cash at 3B and Milt May at C

Thanks, Bobster for the audio clip. It is so great to hear the melodious voice of the "Possum" announcing the lineups for the game.

It sure is! He did around the 6th-8th innings too and I was listening to the youtube recording more to hear that familiar voice than to hear the game. Takes me back to those days of Prince/Woods. :)

I just want to set the record straight.

Bob Gibson was a halfway decent pitcher and everything, but he was absolutely NO Luis Giolito, and that's that.

Not sure if you are kidding or not about Gibson?

Have Otis tell you what he thinks. I think that even he would know the answer.

He said that "anything you post has no merit and that your posts belong in a comic strip"

For my money, Gibson was THE most intimidating pitcher I have ever seen, and that includes Drysdale and Lou Burdette.
