Bauer will probably make more than the entire 2021 Pirate payroll, but it is about time the mid and small market teams ban together and force a floor and possibly a cap on team salaries. I wouldn’t care if there is no MLB in 2022 as long as this large divide in team payroll could be rectified. All MLB teams should be able to compete for a championship year in and year out, and not just to have a couple year window to get there. It is not all cheap Bob Nutting,the entire salary structure in baseball is broken. It is time to make some changes.
