I'm probably in the minority on this, but I actually like this signing.

First of all, I'm shocked that we signed a major leaguer.

Secondly, I'm glad we have a GM who maybe realizes that this team needs LEFT-HANDED PITCHERS to hopefully help offset the left-handed power on other teams who take advantage of our short RF.

Third, this team just NEEDS MORE PITCHERS. We need more arms. This is an established major league starter. I'm not saying he's great. He's not. He's very average. But an average, proven MLB starter is a huge upgrade for this pitching staff.

And finally, his numbers seem pretty respectable considering he pitched half his games at Coors.

I like it.

I like the signing. He was one of the final free agent pitchers that I would hope they would sign. They now have a couple lefty’s in the starting rotation.

nice that he is a lefty and the team needs pitchers.

I looked up his home and road splits since he has been with Rockies.

Not a good sign.

14-14 at home with ERA of 4.08 in 258 innings

8-13 on road with ERA of 5.40 in 198 innings.

Home homers: 35

Road homers:36

So far. Maybe a Brault deal is coming.

He seems mediocre at best, but sadly he'll probably still improve our rotation.

Both he and Brault pitched complete games in 2020. It would be nice if he and Brault would become a nice 2 and # 4 in rotation. Possibly a rotation of Keller, Brault, Kuhl, Anderson and Brubaker to begin the year. Righty, Lefty, Righty, Lefty, and Righty.

That sounds like a good plan. Brault has never pitched a lot of innings in any professional season. If he can go 130-150 this season as a starter that would help the staff a lot. Perhaps the Pirates now have 6 or 7 pitchers capable of that this season.

Former 1st round pick , lefty with MLB exp. and we have him for 2 years if we want. Hell why not , maybe he "gets it " or finds it

with the Pirates , sure would be nice to catch a break every now and then.
