The Bucs and PNC Bank have agreed to a 10 year agreement for the naming rights to PNC Park. That is good news for the best ballpark in America.

Thank goodness. Honestly, I don’t know if I could survive if that ballpark ever changed names.

Good. To me the corporate naming is weird when it is an existing structure that gets the name change. PNC was always PNC so it's different than renaming Boston Gardens or whatever.

I personally detest corporate names on stadiums, advertising on jerseys (soccer) etc. it would have been great if PNC had been named for Clemente, Wagner, or even Carnigie.

PNC is the best ballpark in baseball; but I prefer the names of Fenway, Wrigley, or Dodger and Yankee Stadium

The money that PNC pays for this. Where does it go?

Per the Poost Gazette: Although the ballpark is owned by the Pittsburgh-Allegheny County Sports & Exhibition Authority, the Pirates get to keep all of the money.

I am stunned by this answer.

If this is correct...

How many windfalls is one man entitled to?

I've always been under the impression that teams kept the money. Part of the revenue stream.

However, Nutting jokes aside, this is standard procedure for pro sports. The reason naming rights came to be was so teams had more money to spend on players. Nutting gets his naming rights revenue like everyone else. He just doesn't improve his team with it.
