Polanco, Fowler and Alford are 2 for 22 so far in the early going this year. It is only 3 games, but if they continue to struggle players like Fowler and Alford could be replaced by Stokes or Oliva.  If Polanco is struggling by the time June rolls around they may decide to bite the bullet and release him. Since Nutting has been owner they did eat the salary of a pitcher several years ago. I think it was Matt Morris who Littlefield acquired in a very peculiar trade. Actually Morris was owed over ten million dollars, and they released him in late April of 2008. So precedent has been made to eat a large portion of a players salary.

It is sure difficult to watch Fowler and Alford continue to strikeout.

yeah, but I think you need to give them at least 15 games or so. Its not like the Bucs have replacements ready for them.
