Pirates Acquire Kyle Keller

The Bucs have obtained Kyle Keller from the Angels for cash considerations. They have designated Edgar Santana to make room for Keller.

Keller had been DFA'd. Seems to me Santana is the better pitcher.

Sad to see that Santana has tumbled so far. He was a good pitcher for the Pirates in 2017 & 2018. When spring training started, I thought he was a good candidate to go north with the team.

Hopefully the new Keller can provide some additional depth for the relief staff. Pirates have not cut two relief pitchers from the 40 man roster in the last 5 days.

Maybe they're going to keep acquiring Kellers until they get it right. There's a RHP Brad Keller with KC. He's next.

will be interesting to see if anyone picks up Santana. Isn't he still suspended for another 15 games or so?

I thought I read that the suspension was lifted after last season’s 60 game season.
