Nick Williams dfa By The White Sox

Nick Williams was designated today by the Sox. He has not done much since his rookie season with the Phils, but since our 2 centerfield players have not done much so far this season would he be someone the Bucs could take a chance on ? I think Williams has little experience in centerfield, but he could play left with Reynolds in center. The Bucs need to get some offense from their current centerfielders.

Williams was a washout with the Phils after a brief, but decent spurt early in his career. He was highly touted in the Rangers organization, and was part of the package they sent to Philadelphia for Cole Hamels.

He and Aaron Altherr were big prospects who failed miserably. Watched him play many times, and doubt he would be any upgrade over Fowler or Alford.

But, taht said, you never know.

You know, I sometimes think, "why not? can't get any worse" than I think, "Why? There has to be someone out there who would be an automatic upgrade, even if only because they suck less"
