1. Never get involved in a land war in Asia.

2. Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.

3. Never get into a home run hitting contest against the Braves.

Time for the Dread Pirate Roberts to make an appearance.

How did Andre the Giant not win an Oscar? :)

Fun fact: Mandy Patinkin and Cary Elwes did their own sword fight scene without using doubles and had to do it both LH and RH. Rob Reiner hired a sword fighting expert to teach them and they had to practice everyday of filming. That scene was the last one Reiner shot so that they had the maximum time to practice.

You are hired to do the Official Game Thread with comments like you did today.  You have exchanged some humor for pain!   :D :D :D I'm off to get Mrs. Possum birthday card #73. She is definitely my princess bride.

With Evans on the IL, and Diffo already exhausted, one of the more challenging questions for the day may be --- which position player will be asked to pitch the 8th today after Keller is bombed and Shelton again tries to save the pen?

I (fortunately) fell asleep on last night's game before the 1st pitch. Did wake up in time to see Diffo enter the game as a pitcher. I am not busting the Braves' players for trying to get hits off Diffo, but they did seem to be 'yucking' it up a bit too much for my tastes in the dug-out and on the base-paths.

For example, Osuna was congratulating himself by flashing the good hit sign to his teammates while standing on 2nd, rather than simply recognizing that he just got a hit off the 3rd baseman and move on. Sometime in today's game, someone needs to channel Doc Ellis and plunk a few of the Braves.

Dear Braves --- Remember, you lost on Thursday night to the lowly Pirates. Perhaps you are not as good as you appear to believe that you are.

All teams do it. Doesn't matter if they're winning or losing. It's the new culture of the game.

MLB has also completely gone the way of the NBA, focusing on players instead of teams. Back to back walk off wins for the Pirates, who rarely get a chance to get some recognition, gets nothing on the MLB page. Instead, Ohtani hitting a 450 HR gets all the buzz, even though the Angels lost.

I just try and ignore it, thinking that when the Pirates do win that rare game, and they yuck it up, it must really rub some salt into the wounds.
