There still hasn't been a corresponding move listed to replace Kyle Crick on the roster. Dillon Peters is showing on the Indianapolis roster. Nick Mears was just sent down, so I don't think he can come back. They need a relief arm, so unless they want to use Kranick in that mode, it's possible, but he went 4 innings on the 15th. Mitch Keller pitched last night in a start, Cody Ponce pitched 4 innings of relief Saturday. Unless they cut someone and add them to the 40 man like Jaques, or they bring Peters to AZ, who knows.

It’s a really good day when Polanco’s out of the line-up.

It lists Peters as "Reserve List" for the Indians. IDK what that means. The Pirates need a reliever, and I think he was in Salt Lake when he was DFA, so he would be close by.

None of the other Indy pitchers on the 40 man roster except for maybe Kranick, would appear to be ready to pitch tonight.

I don't understand Newman leading off and Difo further down in the lineup.

I know it had nothing to do with it, but that play between Polanco and Frazier that allowed a run to score and contributed mightily to the loss yesterday, are both sitting. Polanco got the error, but it was really Frazier who botched it. Frazier was horrid yesterday. I hope he isn't coming back down to earth.

At this stage of the game, I really don't care if they play Polanco or not. He's hurt them so much defensively, and they keep putting him out there. I guess when a team signs a bad contract and the guy is untradeable, you just keep playing them. Polanco is Chris Davis light.

For me, continuing to play him is a disservice to the fans. We all know he’s not capable of playing much above what he’s done so far. We all know he won’t be back next year. Playing him keeps another player, or two, from getting time on the field and from being evaluated for the future. At this point in the season, and after watching him flounder and get worse over the past three-plus years, it’s inexcusable to not only play him, but have him on the roster.

All this venom directed at Polanco. He at least is not as bad as Operation Shutdown- Derek Bell or even Joggin George Hendrick.

I still remember that classic joke. What does Derek Bell and a Pirate have in common? They both live on a boat and steal your money

Polanco is better than half the guys we've had over the past 30 years.  Half.  30 years.

He gets paid more. That's all.

We haven't exactly lit things up often.

According to notes from Rob Bietemple the Bucs will have a corresponding move tomorrow, so tonight the bullpen is a man short.

Of course, we can always find someone worse. But in addition to seeing his talent level fall over the past several years, he's continued to make the same mental errors and has failed to comprehend what's going on around him. He's not improved over time physically or mentally. This has been evident for some time. Other organizations whose aim is to win wouldn't have put up with this.
