Okay, guys, I can live with Mitch Keller starting.  From here to the end of the season they have to decide if he will sink or swim in MLB.  What I can't live with is Pooplanco in the starting lineup.  I am tired of him hitting a hot streak.

Anxious to see how Alford does. Has been tearing it up this past month in Indy.

What, Possum, you don’t like a guy rolling a ground ball into RF once every five at bats hitting in the five hole?

And someone has to escort balls hit to RF to the wall.

I saw the video of that this morning. There’s no way to sugar coat it. He’s a real liability out there.

The Pirates have a -166 run differential. Against just these six teams in only 47 games the Pirates are -161 run differential:

Milwaukee -55 (16 games) 4-12

Cincinnati -47 (8 games) 1-7

Atlanta -28 (7 games) 3-4

Kansas City -11 (4 games) 1-3

The Loo -10 (9 games) 3-6

Washington -10 (3 games) 0-3

That's 12-35 for a .255 win pct.

In 63 other games, they have a run differential of -5. They are 29-34 for a .460 win pct.

It's quite obvious, when the Pirates lose, they generally lose

quite handily. They have lost 27 games by 4 or more runs, which represents 25% of the entire season.

They have surrendered 10 or more runs 14 times this season, 12.7% of the games this season, or roughly once every 8 games. They did however win one of those games, 11-10 over Cleveland.

What I find interesting, in two fairly large sample sizes (47, 63 games) in one they play at a 41-121 season pace, the other 75-87.

It's apparent some only view this team through the lens of the 47 game sample and see nothing but gloom and doom and are generally miserable, have nothing good to say about the team and probably in need of a bath and a shave; The others (the group I belong to), who I would classify as generally more intelligent and certainly better looking, view the team more towards the 63 game sample, and see progress and a bright future, but also acknowledging all the warts, mistakes, and the lack of pitching.

A very Jekyll and Hyde team indeed, for a Jekyll and Hyde kind of board.

I hope the HP ump improves after missing 2 strikes on the Reds first batter.
