RIP The Quail
I was fortunate to see him play most of his career in Pgh. This guy was great. I think he could have played MLB into his 50's because he was in such good shape.

A book will be out next spring titled "Bill Virdon: A Life in Baseball" by David Jerome.

I think many of us had the opportunity to watch him when were
youngsters. Always quiet and non-assuming. Always played hard and led by example. He owned Center Field!

I watched him play many a game, always liked him a great centerfielder and person. Those were the days what a line up with Stargell, Clemente, Virdon, just incredible players.
